TOSIN ADEDEJI WINS 20KM UNIVERSITY MARATHON IN ENUGU.

Tosin Adedeji emerged winner in the male category of the 20 kilometer Enugu marathon, which was organised by a private higher institution in the state.
The event was part of the institution’s activities for its 10th year convocation ceremony,  at the school campus in Emene.
The race which witnessed over a 1,000 athletes from within and outside the state, took off from the University temporary campus, thinkers corner as the runners ran through the permanent site, Ugwuomu Nike in Enugu East Local Government Area
Adedeji, who hails from Ogun State, out paced and outclassed every other runner to return home in a time of 1:07:18 seconds While Kefas Williams an indigenous of Plateau State and Soudi Hamadjam, from Cross River finished second  and third with a time of 1:09:08 and 1:10:18 seconds respectively.
Similarly, in the female category, Agofure Charity from Delta State breasted home the tape in 1:17:06 seconds while Arunna Awawu of Lagos and Esther Affigbo (Enugu)  finished second and third in 1:20:58 and 1:22:42 seconds respectively.
Meanwhile, the first winner of each category carted home the whooping sum of N1,000,000 while the second and third received N200,000 and N100,000 respectively.
Speaking after the race,  the Vice Chancellor of the  University, Professor Christian Aneke expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the marathon, saying that Nigerian youths are smart, intelligent and talented.
He commended the winners in both categories, stressing that those who completed the race are also winners.
