SPORTS PROSPECTS EXCITES ENUGU STATE SPORTS COMMISSIONER.

Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development in Enugu State, Llyod Ekweremadu has expressed delight over the development and prospects of sports and sporting activities in the state, saying that the present administration is determined to continually improve in the sector.

He made this statement recently at the just concluded maiden edition of the national council for sports, with the theme “sports for national unity and socio-economic growth” in Enugu.

According to him, the impact of the state government is paying off especially in the development of sports, as the state is now getting the nod to host major sporting competitions.

Reacting to whether any athlete from the state would be participating in the forthcoming Paris Olympic Games EVENT, the sports administrator confirmed that five athletes qualified from the national trials held recently in Bauchi, and they would be taking part in para sports events.

Enugu is set to host the Nigeria National League, NNL Super 8 championship, which will produce the overall winner of the second tier football league in  the country from 7th to 14th June, 2024.
