The Management and Board of Rangers Corporation Limited has concluded plans and arrangements aimed at increasing its fan base and followership globally, so as to generate funds in the running of the daily activities of the club, describing the decision as an avenue for financial autonomy and stability.

The stance which was made known during an interactive session by the club’s Administrative Secretary, Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua, which took place today at the Club’s corporate headquarters, along Abakiliki Road, GRA, Enugu.

According to him, as a state government parastatal, the decision was in accordance with the present administration’s entrepreneurial agenda which is profit oriented, while also acknowledging the role of media practitioners in football related matters and business.

On how the corporation intends to execute this concept, the football administrator highlighted that they will be embarking on a massive membership and partnership drive as a way to reach its one million members target, noting that the benefits attached to the membership are enormous.

However, the media session which had a massive presence of sports personalities within the state from broadcast, print and online platforms, applauded the innovation and promised to help disseminate the vision, reiterating that the business aspect of football is viable.
