Despite the massive followership and sponsorhip deals football has attracted, the Enugu State Teqball Association, ESTA is determined to develop and promote talents that can take the sport to the next level, urging the sports authorities to give the sector the required attention.

The association made this assertion while presenting Teqball board at the office of the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area yesterday, when they paid him a visit.

Speaking on behalf of the association, the Enugu State Coach, Nkiru Amoke hinted that sports have suffered series of setbacks, disappointments and negligence by most of the past administrators, stressing on the need to change the narrative.

The coach who is also an appiontee from the Local Government reiterated the significance and role of sports especially with young people, urging the youth to take advantage of the opportunity to express and showcase their talents.

Receiving the board and members of the association, on behalf of other Enugu North zones, Chairman of Nsukka Local Government, Barrister Walter Ozioko admonished the youth to leverage on the opportunity presented to them to become a better citizens and do well in life.

He noted that the sports is new, but with what he has seen he will be championing the course in using the avenue to engage the jobless youth.

However, Teqball is a combination of football and table tennis, that is been played with almost every part of the body aside your hands, adding that the game is been played with single or double players as in the game of tennis.
