Government Secondary School (GRA) and Queens Comprehensive School (New Layout) emerged winners of this year”s edition of the Zonal Milo Basketball Championship for secondary schools in Enugu today, which was played at the Basketball Court of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
In the male category, it was a comfortable display from the GSS team as they controlled and dorminanted play from start to finish with a (24-9) victory over Nike Grammar School (Nike) while im the female category, the excitment and enthusisiam was awesome as QCS narrowly edge pass Holy Rossary College (10-6).
Speaking in an exclusive with Energy Sports correspondent,i the Director of Sports, Post Primary School Management Board, (PPSMB), Enugu State, Mrs. Onuchukwu Justina Ifeoma heaped praises on the organisers, calling on the  administrators to continually develop sports in the state.
Also Speaking, Coach of Queens Comprehensive School, Chibuike Nnaji expressed satisfaction over his side’s dominance and performance in the game, adding that as defending champion who retainied their title it simply means alot for the team.
On her part, Coach of GSS, Anidife Jovita acknowledged their opponent’s impact in the game, reassuring that her team defintely work on the mistakes ahead of subsequent competitions.
However, 53 secondary schools from differents parts of the metropolis participated in the two-day event. In the other zones, 54 contested in Obolo and 53 in Agwu.
Others are Agbani, Nsukka and Udi which had 45, 63 and 54 schools respectively.
